Lance "Gutti" Panigutti
Peaceful Mountain was glad to be there for Lance when he developed plantar fasciitis in 2006. He recovered well using Tendon Rescue, and was back in the running within three weeks of his injury.
Lance has been competing at the highest level of triathlon for over 11 years.
Prior to the race, and for the first 10 hours of the competition, all the attention/media was on a long-course pro specialist. No one thought I could hold up over the distance, being an Olympic format (2 hour race) specialist. 14 hours into the race it became a 2-man battle between myself, and the long-course pro, Joe McDaniel. Everyone thought I would crack come nightfall. The pace we set was so intense for the first half of the day that if we held strong both of us would finish 45 miles farther than last year’s world record mark of 215 miles. After racing on the edge for 19hrs I was determined to make a push to close the gap and give NBC/media/spectators the race they were hoping for. With 3 hours to go, the gap was steadily shrinking and I am proud to say I became the crowd favorite underdog. Maybe it was the sheer look of determination in my eyes or the utter exhaustion my body exhibited, but that crowd energized me through those last 3 hours. With 2 hours to go, the race was still up for grabs. My pit crew was getting worried that my body would collapse at any moment. NBC started following my every move thinking the same thing — especially when I could barely climb out of the water following my 20th swim. In the end, Joe McDaniel took the victory with 21 complete sprint triathlons in 24 hours and I finished 2nd with 20 complete sprint triathlons — total mileage was 10.5 miles swim, 188 miles bike, 56 miles run (overall that was 40 miles over last year’s world record mark).
I was really excited to see the intrigue/response we received from the spectators and other competitors about the Peaceful Mountain Products. One Ironman athlete saw the pit crew magnets and came over raving about the Arnica Plus — saying that when he didn't use it for a week of training, he was a wreck without it. Other racers started trying the samples that my pit crew was handing out throughout the night and came back after a bike or run loop shocked that they could feel a difference that quick! In 24 hours of non—stop racing (my average time between events was only 40 sec) I didn't cramp once — unheard of! While getting a quick bite to eat between stages, I would have my pit crew rub down my legs (Arnica Plus) before heading back out on the bike/run. Spectators started wondering how I was holding up so strong with no rest — my pit crew was happy to pass on the secret, and samples. There's not a doubt in my mind that my success is a direct result of this product’s success.
Thank you again, Peaceful Mountain, for all your support. — Lance Panigutti
