What is arnica?
Arnica, or more specifically Arnica Montana, is a daisy-like flowering plant that is a member of the sunflower family. This plant is native to Europe but now can be found widely in North America. But what makes it so special is that its medicinal properties have been widely known since the 1500’s and today it is touted by many professional athletes. You will find a wide variety of topical over-the-counter medicines that have arnica in the list of ingredients, including Peaceful Mountain’s own Arnica Plus®. Its popularity is only increasing as more people find out about this natural remedy.
What is it good for?
Arnica contains helenian, a chemical compound that is a major ingredient in many anti-inflammatory preparations. In high doses taken orally helenian is toxic, but when the herb is applied directly on the skin or in a homeopathic form it is safe and has shown remarkable effectiveness on bruises and other types of inflammatory problems associated with exercise.
According to The University of Maryland Medical Center, it can be used topically for a myriad of conditions, including bruises, sprains, muscle aches, wound healing, superficial phlebitis, joint pain, inflammation, and swelling from broken bones. Furthermore, homeopathic preparations are also used to treat sore muscles, bruises, and other conditions caused by overexertion or injury.
Our Arnica Plus® gel is recommended for muscle aches, cramping, bruises, and to help recovery after exercise. It is safe and all-natural.
Why should I try Arnica Plus®?
We make Arnica Plus® with both herbal and homeopathic arnica for maximum benefit, a combination that is not often found in other products on the market. In addition, we also infuse our gel with Rhus Toxicodendron for powerful healing support and Devil’s Claw and White Willow herbs for their soothing properties. All of these natural ingredients are combined in our water-based gel which makes it non-greasy and easy to apply. We think you will agree that this is truly a remarkable product, whether you are an athlete or just someone who would like to be able to work out with less pain.
